The New Texas Symphony Orchestra (NTSO), Dallas' premier community orchestra, is an all-volunteer, nonprofit performing arts group. At the heart of NTSO is the belief that music has the power to bring people together. By sharing the joy of FREE live performances for ALL, we aim to bridge the gap between musicians and the audience, fostering a sense of unity and creating memorable experiences that resonate long after the final note fades.

A New Era for NTSO

This season marks an exciting new chapter for the New Texas Symphony Orchestra as we welcome Dr. Michelle Perrin Blair as our Artistic Director. Dr. Blair succeeds Dr. Kathryn D. Brownlee, the orchestra's founding director, who led the 80-musician, all-volunteer ensemble through 21 years of remarkable growth and success.

Dr. Brownlee leaves a lasting legacy, having built the NTSO into a beloved organization known for championing underrepresented composers—especially women and composers of color—while honoring classical traditions and expanding community access to classical music through FREE community concerts across DFW.

Building on more than two decades of musical excellence, community engagement, and innovation, the NTSO continues its mission to enrich the greater Dallas community through dynamic, inspiring performances and accessible symphonic music.
